VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF ENERGY : A lot of work is happening around the globe on increasing renewable integration and lowering the carbon footprint. My vision of the future includes continued global efforts through policies like COP21, but also enhanced consumer awareness and change in user behavior to help optimize the fuel mix and energy use timing.
EXCITING CURRENT PROJECTS : As the President of INSEAD Energy Club and VP of INSEAD Women in Business club, I am working on one of the most exciting projects of engaging more and more MBA students in the energy & sustainability conversation by organizing events like EDF Microgrid Site Visit, Women in Sustainability Panels, Networking drinks with INSEAD Alumni in Energy, and talks from major energy players in Singapore.
WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED TO KNOW WHEN YOU STARTED YOUR CAREER IN ENERGY? As a woman electrical engineer in a male dominated power-electricity industry in the US, I had low confidence in my technical skills in the beginning. I wish I knew that being from a minority gender was not my weakness, but it was my strength. I could add new dimension of creative thinking that would be greatly recognized by my male colleagues.
