- The opportunity lies in connecting physical and digital aspects of built environment while keeping the focus on the occupants who remain the end clients.
- Innovation happens in areas where end-users express their needs, suppliers have identified as a problem and / or in anticipation of future trends.
- Creating platform of trust, transparency and good quality information is what facilitates buy-in of new technologies by clients.
- Calculating total cost of ownership (CAPEX & OPEX) and regulatory support is what helps to make adoption of new technologies financially more attractive.
- Main challenges lie in the mindset, awareness and possible cyber-security issues associated with introduction of IoT based technologies and data tools.

Event theme: Energy & Future of Mobility in a Connected World

Format: Innovation workshop (By Invitation Only)

Participants: Energy companies, industry consultants, startups

Time: 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Date: 10 May 2019

Venue: Found8, 128 Prinsep St, #01-01, Singapore 188655

Key Takeaways:

1. The future of mobility will be autonomous, electrified,  data based, with ride hailing and positioned on the intersection of asset optimisation and new technology.

2. The challenge lies with the discipline to focus on what the customers - individual users and large vehicle fleet operators and managers - need rather than experimenting with cool technology.

3. Let’s not disregard yet automobile manufacturers who are in a strong position to capture the future market of mobility and are already close to the users.

Event theme: Sustainable Supply Chains: Creating Energy Innovation for the Future

Format: Networking Night (Public Event)

Description: Deploying energy innovations across supply chains will deliver a sustainability impact at scale. Consumer companies need to work with their suppliers to deliver on the ambition of change they aspire and position themselves for growth. Join us for the next Enrupt event in collaboration with LEVEL3 to explore how innovations in supply chains can take us to the sustainable future we desire.

Speakers:

May Liew, Vice President, Innovation, SP Group

Mireille Giraud, Regional Account Director, Schneider Electric

Robin Pho, Founder & CEO, Right People Renewable Energy

Moderator: Katarina Hasbani, Founder, Enrupt

Time: 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Venue: LEVEL3  | Padang & Co, Mapletree Business City, 20 Pasir Panjang Road (East Wing) #03-22, Singapore 117439

In partnership with: LEVEL3 and General Assembly

Key Takeaways:

1. We are witnessing a convergence of innovation and sustainability. New solutions need to be both innovative and sustainable to get traction in supply chains of large MNCs.

2. Co-creation is a great tool for tailoring new solutions to the needs of supply chain owners. IP sits though with the buyer.

3. Cost is a driver and sustainable solutions need to have positive impact on the bottom line.

4. To drive more innovation, a simple metric, such as CO2 emissions can be very powerful.

5. Diverse teams in terms of gender, nationality or backgrounds yield better, more innovative results.

Corporate procurement for supply chains is already attracting investors who in turn will attract innovators. That’s the best news that will drive more energy innovations in supply chains .

Event theme: Energy & Future of Mobility

Format: Networking Night (Public Event)

Description:

Join us to brainstorm about the future of mobility in an interconnected world on 26th March at Area2071! This interactive community building event organised by Enrupt & Area2071 and supported by INSEAD Alumni Association UAE & CEBC will tackle how digital technology and platform type of business models are creating a new sector on the crossroads between energy and transport.

Speakers:

Stephan Gobert, Senior Strategy Manager, ENGIE

Kyle Weber, Associate, EVERA

Moderator: Katarina Hasbani, Founder, Enrupt

Time: 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Date: 26 March 2019

Venue: Dubai Future Accelerators Auditorium, Emirates Towers – The Boulevard (Upper Level), Dubai, UAE

In partnership with: AREA 2071 , Clean Energy Business Council , INSEAD Alumni Association UAE

Key Takeaways:

1. Car ownership will change both at the level of individual and commercial users and will shape the mobility industry of the future.

2. Mobility as a service is the business model which is the most ripe for development in the Middle East - through ride hailing apps and dedicated offerings for fleet managers.

3. At the macro level, cybersecurity and underlying infrastructure (chargers) initiatives need to support future development of the market.

4. Collaborations are critical - for piloting of new technologies (especially for storage - the pain point of EVs), new business models and raising awareness.

5. In conclusion, the rise of e-commerce in the Middle East will require cheap transport options and that will ultimately drive more disruption on the crossroad of mobility and energy.

Event theme: Energy & Future of Mobility in a Connected World

Description: Mobility is 30% of the global energy consumption. With digital technology and growth in e-commerce and platform-type of business models, mobility solutions are transforming. Join us for this panel discussion followed by a breakout session to discuss the future of mobility and what the sector can do to better address changing customer needs.

Speakers:

Syafiq Yussoff, CEO, Riverwood

Patrick Wong, Country Manager, GOGOVAN

Smriti Gupta, CFO, Neuron Mobility

Kaushik Burman, Gogoro

Moderator

Katarina Hasbani, Founder, Enrupt

Format: Networking Night (Public Event)

Time: 6:30PM - 9PM

Date: 28 February 2019

Venue: SGInnovate, #03-01, 79 Ayer Rajah Crescent,Singapore 139955

In partnership with: SGInnovate and General Assembly

Key Takeaways:

What is the purpose of the new mobility sector we see emerging? Reduction in carbon footprint, access to data, food security and security of delivery, maximizing underutilized resources.

  • What are some of the important collaborations emerging? Between governments and new players, large energy, tech and equipment players and startups, users and providers. Large players have the gravity to create ecosystems around them and grow new technologies.

  • What is the experience working with regulators? New regulation is a good sign, it means the solution is accepted. We need more interfaces to communicate, explain, how especially micro-mobility is changing people's lives.

  • Are we replacing old assets or bringing new assets on the street? We need to have a frank examination of the situation and understand, so that investors and regulators can make an informed decision for future regulation.

  • Where are the pain-points of mobility systems? Room for optimization is in charging. Battery can be product or a service.

Overall, this was a very rich discussion which tackled mobility as a service, platform or a fleet management solution. Though, mobility emerged clearly as a concept that goes beyond energy and transport and creates its own dynamic definition which marries energy, transport, logistics and technology together, for a more efficient and clean future of business and life.
